I am devoting the month of April to increasing my awareness of how my actions affect the environment: not only the physical environment of our planet, but the spiritual and emotional environment as well. I will attempt to do something positive every day, or refrain from doing a negative thing. Little things, if done by everybody, can make a huge difference.
I try to remember to take my cloth bags to the grocery store to avoid wasting paper or imposing more plastic on the environment, but I am not always successful. Rather than beating myself up over my forgetfulness, though, I promise to try harder next time. I will not mess up my emotional environment by negative thinking.
I had a book called “One Hundred Things to do for the Environment.” With Earth Day coming up on April 22nd, many such resources are available on line. I want to put these recommendations into practice. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or practices I can incorporate into my daily living to make a smaller footprint.
I COMPLETELY support that, and I, too, have struggled with guilt and negativity when my actions have a detrimental impact on the earth. I take that responsibility seriously and have thought much about this topic. I am glad you’ve chosen it as a topic for the month. Maybe someone can help me be more positive! 🙂
